AISECO — Automotive Industrial Supply & Equipment Co.
EPA 6H/6X · OSHA · NFPA 33

EPA area-source rules (6H and 6X), OSHA spray finishing standards and NFPA 33 shape how booths are built, which guns are allowed, which filters you need and how painters are trained. We help you understand what applies, supply compliant equipment and documentation, and train your team. We're not lawyers — we're the people who know the equipment inside out.

Compliance & Training

If you're seeing any of these, we can help — usually starting with a conversation and a visit to your floor.

  • An inspector, insurer or customer audit asking about your spray area
  • Painters due for (or never given) documented training
  • No records of filter efficiency or change-outs
  • Respiratory protection questions with 2K urethanes and isocyanates
  • Unsure whether your coatings trigger 6H or 6X
Our approach

Diagnose first. Recommend second. Then make sure your team can run it.

01

Review what you spray

Coatings and SDS sheets tell us whether target HAP rules likely apply.

02

Check equipment and booth

Gun types, filter efficiency, enclosure and airflow gauges against the requirements.

03

Train and document

Training on gun setup, technique, booth and filter maintenance, with records for your files.

04

Protect your people

Supplied-air respirators, breathing-air systems, safety cabinets and PPE from brands we trust.

Right-sized, not upsold

Typical starting points — every recommendation is fit to your parts, coatings, volumes and people.

Option 1

Simple

Best for: Small shops getting organized

  • Equipment and filter check
  • Filter efficiency documentation
  • PPE recommendations

Option 2

Standard

Best for: Plants with regular painter turnover

  • Painter training with records
  • Filter change-out program
  • Respiratory protection setup

Option 3

Advanced

Best for: New lines, expansions, audits

  • Compliance-minded booth and line design
  • Coordination with permit consultants
  • Ongoing training refreshers
Equipment we work with

We're brand-flexible: we'll recommend what fits your job, not what fills a quota.

Have a problem like this?

Describe it in a few sentences and upload photos. We'll come back with questions, a plan and a quote.

Questions we hear

Do EPA 6H or 6X rules apply to us?

They can apply when spray-applied coatings contain certain metal compounds (chromium, lead, manganese, nickel, cadmium) or when you're in specific metal fabrication categories. Your coating SDS sheets are the starting point. Final determinations belong with Ohio EPA or your environmental consultant.

How often must painters be trained?

Under 6H and 6X, painters need documented training, with refresher certification at least every five years.

Is this legal advice?

No. We provide equipment expertise and practical guidance and will point you to Ohio EPA's free small-business assistance office or your consultant for determinations.
